The present work describes the preparation and physicochemical evaluation of a halcinonide–diflorasone ointment, followed by UV–Visible spectrophotometric estimation of both drugs. An ointment containing halcinonide (0.1% w/w) and diflorasone (0.05% w/w) was prepared and evaluated for appearance, pH, viscosity and spreadability. The analytical method was assessed for linearity, recovery, precision, robustness, limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ). Recovery ranged from 102.42% to 104.93% for halcinonide and from 98.33% to 104.16% for diflorasone. The average intraday and interday %RSD values were 0.394% and 0.412%, respectively, for halcinonide and 0.738% and 0.469%, respectively, for diflorasone. The LOD and LOQ were 0.146 and 0.445 µg/mL for halcinonide and 0.66 and 2.00 µg/mL for diflorasone, respectively. These findings indicate that the prepared ointment exhibited the reported physicochemical characteristics and that the UV–Visible spectrophotometric method showed suitable linearity, recovery and precision under the investigated conditions....
